As the cold weather starts to creep in, skiers and snowboarders anxiously await the first epic snowfall of the season. So for those looking to ski as soon as possible, all eyes are on November. But, knowing where to travel on your ski trip in November isn’t easy.
So, we’ve done the hard work for you. With hundreds of ski resorts to explore, these are the destinations you need to visit on your ski and snowboard trip in November.
Located in Vermont and nicknamed “the Beast of the East,” Killington Ski Resort features 212 trails across seven different peaks. It’s one of the largest ski resorts on the east coast and consistently boasts an opening date in November. While its sheer size draws several skiers to its slopes, Killington also boasts a lively après ski scene and delicious options for food and drinks.
With close proximity to both Vail and Denver, Copper Mountain is a popular destination among November visitors to Colorado. The resort devotes nearly half of its skiable terrain to beginners, making it one of the top spots for novice skiers. When it’s time to hit the slopes, green ski runs are separate from the blue and black, so beginners truly have an area of their own.
For an extended ski season this November, head to Arapahoe Basin, or A-Basin, as the locals call it. While the majority of ski resorts in Colorado close sometime in early April, A-Basin boasts a notably longer season. The resort typically opens in November and remains open until June, occasionally July.
Located inside the borders of Banff National Park, Sunshine Village features some incredible ski slopes along the Canadian Rockies. While the resort tends to be crowded, you truly can’t go wrong with a visit to Sunshine Village in November. The resort also offers ski-in/ski-out accommodations and modern amenities like a heated gondola.
Jay Peak Resort boasts some of the earliest snow in the east and offers 81 trails for you to enjoy it. While the highlight of the resort is certainly the slopes, the resort has tons to offer off the mountain, too. This family-friendly resort boasts an indoor waterpark, climbing gym, fat biking, a spa, and a wide array of food and beverage options.
